2014 - Year in Review
We've had a fantastic year at SCIDES - and we're really excited that so many new students are embracing individualized distance learning. Yes, we're biased - but we think that personalized, flexible education is awesome!
Our year included a new website, new blog, new courses and a new principal - and we want to share the best moments with you!
In May, we had the biggest graduating class ever - 50 students of the Kengard Learning Centre (of which SCIDES is a part) received their diploma! Take a look at the video, which also features our new principal Colleen Mullin :)
In June, we launched our blog, bringing you posts about Distributed Learning vs. Home Schooling, E-Learning and Socialization. We also shared helpful tips for parents about whether online learning is the right choice for their child, as well as a parents' guide to e-learning.
After our summer break, we got busy with lots of new enrollments. And even more exciting stuff happened: we are offering a whole range of new electives, like Forensics 11 and 12, Tourism 12 and Entrepreneurship 10. See the whole lineup here. Soon, a whole new series of languages like Fundamental Italian and Fundamental Japanese, so stay tuned!
Finally, in late fall, we launched our new website and we showed you some of the features right here. With the new website also came a new and improved online classroom, providing a faster, more stable way of online learning.
Throughout the year, we were also able to build up an awesome online community on Facebook. If you haven't connected with us there yet, you should! We share educational, informative and fun posts and pictures - and of course we are always available for any of your questions :)
We're excited about 2015 and all the good things it will bring for distance education - and we're looking forward to helping you take charge of your education!
Happy Holidays and a fantastic New Year!
